Hi Ceal,
I haven't done too much exploring of your site, YET!!!!! But I will!!!! I just wanted to write you before it got to late. I will write more later. Hey!!!! What I have seen of this website I do like. I went to the "fan stories" first and I really like the 2 little fans. That was a real cute idea. I am into web design and that is totally my style. Have fun with this. Oh by the way my "Honeymooner" stories. I will write more as I think of them but for now I can tell you I was up late one night with my best friend, Kathy, and we turned to the "Honeymooners". I know my Grandfather always made a big deal out of Jackie Gleason but now I saw proof why!!! The very first episode we watched was the one when he ate the blueberry pie and saw his tongue was purple and he freaked out. I think my favorite one was when Ralph was in that 25,000 dollar question and he memorized all those popular songs and it ended up being "Swamy River" and they asked him who wrote it and he goes ":Hamma Hamma, Ed Norton" God that was funny..And also when Norton was sleep walking going "LULU LULU". I have SO many sayings I got from the honeymooners. Whenever I pretend to be nervous I always go "hamma hamma". Thats all for now, I will write in the future (THE CHEF OF THE FUTURE) It's all coming back to me now!! Such fine memories...HOW SWEET IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey,

I remember the first time I ever saw the Honeymooners. It was New Years Eve,
1996. My whole family was exited about watching the marathon on WPIX.
Everyone except for me. I had been "forced" to watch the Christmas Special
(the one with Gleason playing his different charactors) a week earlier,
AND I DID'NT LIKE IT! (now that is one of my favorites) So I sat down in the iving
room, dreading it, however I chuckled at a few scenes in the begining
of "TV or Not TV", however I was still not enjoying myself. But then I heard
Ed say "Space helmet on, oh Captain Video!!" and I was hooked forever.

Hi everyone. I just wanted to share that I was having lunch today at a
local
IHOP (I live in Los Angeles) and heard another customer asking the
woman
behind me how it had been to work with such greats as, "Ralph, Audrey
and
Art." She commented that there would never be another television show
like
that one. The men apologized for interrupting her lunch but she was
very
gracious to them. When I got up to leave I was finally able to see the
older, attractive well-dressed woman putting fresh lipstick on.
Trixie!! She
looked quite stylish in a sharp red suit and hat and later, I saw her
leave
in a Jaguar coupe. What a special treat to see her!

cecil---i have watched the honeymooners since i was a young boy in the early 60's.
i would watch the 50's reruns (starring audrey meadows as alice) and the 60's live one hour (more musical version) starring sheila mccrae as alice.....they both played the role very well; but audrey----she really knew how to play that character alice.
anyways----back in the early 80's one of the local tv independent channels re-ran the classic 39---and my wife and i both enjoyed them very much....i guess it was the innocence of the show and the simple charm of the characters---and the loyalty they had to one another on screen.......the "twas the night before christmas" which aired 12/24/55----is a great irony in true o'henry type form.
anyways; back in the mid 80's there was a fan club which published the current mail addresses for the original 4 stars. i wrote to all of them.....never heard from either of the "norton's"-as i recall. i got a really nice form letter back from audrey meadows six. then---about 8 months later i went to our roadside mailbox one saturday morning and found an unusual big envelope hand addressed to me from florida---i had no idea what it could be.....but it certainly was not junk mail!
...........when i opened it up---what a surprise---a picture of jackie gleason and hand written accross it in pen----to ted and kathy---thanks for watching---sincerely; jackie gleason..............it really made our day!
how else to describe why ralph cramden lives---because gleason really understood his characters.
thanks for the chance to share the story.
sincerely---tbr----ontario, new york

Where do I start ???? All I can say is that I have been watching the
Honeymooners since I was a kid. I am 53 years old and like almost
everyone else......I can watch those shows over and over and over again and still laugh like I have never seen them before !!!!!! I think all of us have a little "HONEYMOONER's" in us and that is what makes them sooooooooooo funny.
At times I have acted like Ralph or have been as silly as Ed. I think
the Honeymooner's was....and still is the best show on TV !!!!!!

Around 1965, my parents purchased a home in an area out side Miami Beach called the Country Club of Miami. I went to school with a friend named Johnny Philbin whose father Jack, unbeknownst to me at the time, was the
producer of 'The Honeymooners". About a year later after we move in to our house, Gleason built a huge home at the country club overlooking the 18th hole that took up three lots!

Being a friend of Johnny's offered me numerous opportunities to see Gleason.Johnny was Gleason's legal 'God-Son' as I was told, so we had access to Gleason's house, primarily the billiard room which was a located though a
walkway off to the side of the house. We played pool and pinball while inthe room after school and the 'Great One' himself would usually stop by tojoin us for a game of billiards and say hello.

One day Johnny asked me to join him and his Dad for a short round of golf with Gleason and Art Carney. As a nine year old, I was on cloud nine knowing
I would get to spend an afternoon with two of the most famous
celebrities inthe world. Gleason had a customized golf cart with tassels that trimmed the top, an on-board bar, and the most amazing thing I had ever seen, a built in
black and white TV set which he watched regularly when playing on the links.

On another occasion while we were at the pool at the club, Gleason came out of the bar to go for a swim. It was obvious that he had had a few drinks to many that afternoon. He jumped into the pool and removed his trunks and
waved them above his head shouting a joke or two. After getting out of the pool he proceeded to pick on a small dog that one of the guests had brought.
The dog bit him on the ankle. Needless to say, that was the last time dogswere ever allowed around the pool area again.

I have a lot of fond memories of Jackie as a kid. He always treated us well and spent many hours with us. But the most cherished item I have is one of the many Christmas cards he sent us while we lived there. It's a crushed red
velvet card. On the front is say's "Merry Christmas" and on the inside it say's, "Jackie Gleason". But the most notable thing about the card was the
postage mark on it. It's dated December 1967 and right next to it was a little stick man, in Gleason's famous form that say's,
"And Away We Go!".
I'm proud to say I still have it.

One more thing I'd like to mention, if you remember during his shows in Miami Beach, he always came out at the end with a cup of coffee. It wasn't coffee folks, it was always scotch!

I miss him dearly.

To: haminahamina@yahoo.com

I've been a Honeymooners fan since I was about 7 or 8. Originally, I
watched first run episodes of the color, musical episodes from the hour-long Jackie gleason show of the 1960s, featuring Shelia McRae and Jane Keen. Then, a local station began showing the Classic 39, and I remember thinking to myself
how young Ralph looked, how everything was in black and white, and how there was a different Alice and Trixie (Audery Meadows and Joyce Randolph).

Over the years, I watched and watched. Between 1991 and 1996, I
purchased all 39 volumes of the Lost Episodes and 20 volumes of the Classic 39, for a total of 59 video tapes displayed for all to see as company comes through my front
door. People usually ask, "What are THOSE!!??" I explain it to them,
and I've helped others see the light and they adore the show now too. My children--especially my 9 and 6 year-old boys. They watch
them--sometimes 6-8 episodes in a row.

How is it that a show set in that drab kitchen can keep you laughing
non-stop, no matter how many times you watch an episode? I laugh as
though it is my first time seeing them--and I'm probably on my 100+ time through most of them. I can't think of any show--maybe Seinfeld--where I've laughed hard after a second time through. But only the Honeymooners cause me to burst out laughing after multiple viewings--I laugh even having all the lines memorized!

We are a group of guys who meet in grammar school and continued our
friendships through High School and throughout our adult lives. In 1977 we needed a name for our softball team. We all watched the Honeymooners and decided to call ourselves the Raccoons. We have had countless numbers of Raccoon members throughout the years, and Racoonettes, for very type of sporting event/team and other occasions. We even have some members who wear Raccoon hats as batting helmets. We have years of different types of Raccoon
wear. We have an annual Raccoon Golf outing and Picnic, with Honeymooner trivia contest each year. The winner is crowned "Raccoon of the Year." We are planning a group Raccoon vacation to Vegas this year. Our membership continues to grow with the addition of our children and their participation in Raccoon events. This has been a great way to continue friendships and stay together for over 25 years.
